A survey showed that the averaged monthly salary for migrant workers in China's Pearl River Delta reached 1,677 yuan, 70 yuan up from the average wage in 2008. However during the same period, the cost of living for migrant workers had gone up by 83.92 yuan a month, leading to a decrease in their real income.
