Two years after Shanghai's ban on smoking in public buildings took effect, the city's smoking rate has been reduced to 18.6%, down from 37.6% in 2010, according to sohu.com. Local authorities say the ban will soon be expanded to include internet cafes, recreation centers and restaurants.
