The Securities Daily reported last week that a large number of important Chinese media companies including China Publishing Group, China Science Publishing Group and China Education Publishing & Media Group aim to list on the domestic stock market sometime over the next four years.

Meanwhile, publishing groups based in Guangdong province and Shanghai are already taking action to prepare their IPOs and are currently waiting for regulatory approval.

A source from China Publishing Group (中國出版集團) said that they had already established a stock company in December 2011 and that the company plans to compete its IPO this year.

The moves are part of a government push in these areas to get important state-owned and private companies that are focused on creative industries to list.

China Press and Publishing Media Group (中國新聞出版傳媒集團有限公司) and China Science Publishing (中國科技出版集團) group were both founded last year as a result of a push towards building large scale publication and media companies.

Tan Yue (譚躍), the president and vice party secretary of China Publishing Group says the company is striving to became modern, large scale, international publishing and media firm with the goal of building itself into a first-class international publishing and media group.
