    83,000 Yuan ($13,000)- the price paid to save 800 dogs from restaurants

    800 dogs were rescued from delivery to restaurants in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Sichuan Province. The Sichuan Qiming Companion Animal Protection Center (SCAPC) and the Love of Home Animal Rescue Center (LHARC) in Chengdu provided the money. The decision to pay the dog trader has been criticized by lawyers and animal activists.

    Three doctors were recently arrested for illegally transplanting human organs in North China’s Hebei Province. The three were allegedly caught in the act, preparing to operate on a man for his kidney.
