    China's GDP Growth Rate for 2009 Revised up to 9.1%
    Summary:

    The National Bureau of Statistics has revised China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2009 up to 34.0507 trillion yuan, 515.4 billion yuan more than the previously announced figure. This update to the size of China's GDP, means that the offical GDP growth figure for 2009 has also been raised from 8.7 to 9.1%. This still leaves China just a smidgen short of Japan in terms of nominal GDP when expressed in US dollars, while Japan reported a GDP of about 5.068 trillion US dollars in 2009, China has now upgraded from 4.9 trillion US dollars to approximately 5.026 trillion US dollars as calculated according to today's exchange rate. According to a Bloomberg report, China's upgraded GDP figure translates into 4.98 trillion US dollars when converted according to the average exchange rate between the yuan and the dollar in 2009.
