Quick Revival for Small Steel Mills

Small steel mills in Hebei and Jiangsu province were embracing fresh business in basic and low value-added products like deformed steel bar, which was in high-demand for infrustructure construction after China introduced its sweeping stimulus package last November. Meanwhile, business for steel giants like Handan Iron and Steel Group in Hebei remained depressed as they were required by the government since 2005 to update their production technologies, and thus focused on high value-added products, which were suitable for home electrical appliances, shipping and the auto industry.
