    Living the Scars of SARS
    Nation, page 15
A picture showing Beijing during the height of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak. Five years have passed since then but many of its survivors were still struggling to get back on their feet. Some had lost the capacity to work after being inflicted with side-effects from SARS treatment, including bones difficiency syndrome and chronic lung disease, while others suffered from societal withdrawal syndrome. The EO spoke to several survivors who were now living half a shadow of their former lives.
