New profit-making opportunities for China's telecom giants
China's three telecom giants---China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom---have launched their custom-tailored cellphones in succession. China Telecom released its cellphone brand--Tian Yi Surfing--to the market for the first time at Expo Comm China 2008 on October 21. One industry player said the annual potential sales in this market there would reach as much as 1 billion yuan.
