Automobile Industry in the Cold

China's automobile industry has urshered in the "winter" as export volume for both cars and spare parts slowed. The August export volume, according to the Chinese customs, had declined 5.34% year-on-year. The ongoing financial crisis afflicting the world market has been identified as a main reason, but the industry has also been hard pressed since earlier this year by rising costs and the yuan's appreciation.
