Three thousand children have fallen ill and twenty have died in Fuyang city of Anhui Province since hand, foot and mouth disease struck in late March, according to official data. Before the outbreak, Fuyang had attracted nationwide attention due to a scandal over fake infant milk powder and other corruption cases.
